Countries: Brunei, An ABU member country.

Brunei is a little and wealthy kingdom located in the northern part of the Borneo island. It borders with Malaysia, and the malay, is the stage language of the country. This country is inhabited by 415.717 people. The capital city is Bandar Seri Begawan, which is als its biggest urban area.
Brunei has taken part two times in the ABU TV Song Festival, and has also taken part in the ABU Radio Song Festival, since the start of the history of the event.


Radio Televisyen Brunei is the state broadcaster of Brunei, which is a member of the ABU (Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union). The company was launched in 1975, by the sultan of Brunei, when the radio and television services started operating at the same time. At first, the network only had three staff members, but the company has been expanding itself, covering nowadays almost all the country with more than 1.000 workers.

Influenced by the malay pop culture coming from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, Brunei has been developing its own music scene. Some bruneian singers have taken part in national or international song contests both in Brunei and in the rest of the ASEAN countries.

Brunei has taken part in two of the three editions of the ABU TV Song Festival.

2013: Qeez Idrus - Salahkah Aku.
2014: Juan Madial - Hear me.

Brunei in the ABU Radio Song Festival.

Brunei has also taken part in the two editions of the ABU Radio Song Festival, and has also confirmed its participation in the third edition in Yangon.

2012: Maria Aires - Yang Terindah.
2014: Neff Aslee - Juliet.
2015: Dila - Aku milik orang.

Venues.


The Brunei international convention centre, one of the biggest concert halls in the country, could be a suitable place in order to host the ABU TV Song Festival or the ABU Radio Song Festival.
